Driving in Poland
Driving in Poland. What is wrong? Why am I writing about this? Do we have any other rules? Nope, everything is about the same. We have roads, sign-posts, road signs...
Road Signs in Poland
Oooops. Polish road signs are the worst in Europe. Actually they are not the worst, because we have not too many, definitelly not enough. You can drive 30 miles and you will not see any road sign. You do not know what route you are on, no directions, nothing. In the cities situation gets worse. Let's say you want to find a particular street. Ooooooooooops. Signs with street names are too small (10in by 10in) and you cannot read anything whilst you are in your car. To get anywhere you need to have a map or Portable Vehicle Navigation. You never know what street you are in a midlle of.

Speeding
Officially you are allowed to drive 50km/h in towns, villagesm cities, etc. Hoever most of Polish drivers drive 90km/h. Outside of built-up areas you are allowed to drive 90km/h ecxept motor ways where you can drive 110km/h. These are official rules, but Poles drive as fast their engines can stand. A result is 5000 dead of Polish people in car accidents. So, beware of crazy drivers. Fines are high in Poland.
Polish Roads
Ok, you did not get scared and you want to drive in Poland. Polish roads are in terrible shape, there are tons of holes where you can damage your aluminum wheel. Along the roads there are plenty of trees, so be careful on any turn.
Car Theft
A few simple rules. Do not pick up any hitchhikers. Do not stop if someone is waving to you from another car. They want to drive your attention and want you to think it is something wrong with your car. When you stop then they will take your car. Do not leave your id, passports, radio, driving licence, money in you car when parking.
Polish Roadsides
Especially roadsides close to forrests are occupied by prostitutes. How do they look? No worries, you will recognize them. Their cloths say everything. Watch out they can rob you. They have back-up from their pimps. Besides they are no the cleanest ladies.
